Free Stuff Report
The pencil necks here at FI Labs have been busy looking through the pile of free junk we brought back and analyzing it in deeply scientific ways we can't even begin to understand.

The final collection (minus promotional materials) weighs in at 25 pounds and forms a pile approximately 17 inches high. After detailed examination by the forensic team, we discovered we had a cohesive mass consisting of the following:

  • 26 CDs (Best: Red Hot + Rhapsody, Worst: Dutch Rock '99 Compilation)
  • 1 Hank Williams III fake tattoo
  • 1 Spike Radio mousepad
  • 1 Village Voice magnet
  • 1 NY Press Calendar
  • 1 Hollywood Stock Exchange dry erase marker board
  • 4 Tee Shirts (Best: Atomic Pop, Worst: Spike Radio)
  • 1 College Club skateboard keychain
  • 1 Discmakers shaker egg
  • 1 set of Riffage ear plugs
  • 1 bag of microwave popcorn (origin unknown)
  • 1 CDuctive lollipop, green
  • 1 Webradio totebag
  • 1 Billboard CD opener
  • 1 Rouze condom (hidden in matchbook)
  • 1 Den lighter
  • 8 Stickers (Best: Giuliani is a Jerk, Worst: Attack Records)
  • 1 Riffage "clicker"
  • 1 book of Pop Smear matches
  • 22 Publications (Best: Tromeo & Juliet comic book, Worst: Modern Drummer)

  • There you have it, the best and worst of CMJ '99. Of course, the best part was that all this stuff was free. The worst part is that there's now a giant pile of junk on our office floor. Maybe it's time to do a few out-the-window projectile distance tests.
